Lucy Creek Cottages:   A main house and guest cottage on Lucy Creek

The main house of Lucy Creek Cottages on Ladys Island, South Carolina was built to house officers and their families on Parris Island in 1920, and 40 years later moved by barge to a very private 2.5 acres of maritime forest. The Cottages are located on Lucy Creek that flows with the tides between the Saint Helena Sound and the Morgan River, and neighbor 700 acres in a conservation easement with The Nature Conservancy. (Note that we have had successful eagle's nesting for the past twenty years.) The main house has been completely renovated and 2 structures added; a guest cottage and boat house for kayaks, paddles and life jackets. The main house contains two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with three twin beds. There are also 2 full baths, a living room facing Lucy Creek, a large dining room next to a butler's pantry, and a full kitchen.  A wrap-around screen porch on the water connects the dining room, living room and master bedroom. The guest cottage is a self-contained bedroom, a large closet and a full bath with a bathtub/shower.  The cottage faces the water and has its own porch. The house and cottage together sleep two couples and three single beds offer additional space for children and adults. The property is 6 miles from downtown Beaufort’s shops, stores and restaurants, and 10 miles from the beaches of  Hunting Island State Park. Sam's Point Boat Landing, just of the Intracoastal Waterway is a mile from the house down Lucy Creek.
